LANCER EVOLUTION X PROTOTYPE to Arrive in the UAE during 2008
Shown at the Detroit Motor Show in January 2007 ,Prototype X is a design study for the new Lancer Evolution due to be launched (Right Hand Drive) in Japan at the end of 2007 . Derived from the all-new Lancer sports sedan due to be launched in USA in Spring 2007 ,Prototype X is designed with an agressive and purposeful external appearance.
Prototype X is loaded with the very latest in MMC automotive engineering technology.Mechanical features include Mitsubishi's S-AWC -super all wheel control: vehicle dynamics system that integrates control of drive torque,braking ,steering and suspension of all 4 wheels . A new aluminium engine block ,MIVEC and turbocharged and mated to a high performance speed automated manual transmission,and the use of aluminium in some body panels to reduce body weight.
Production of the Left Hand Drive GSR begins in April 2008 ,and full specification and prices should be available in early 2008.

Lancer Evo IX wins the Lebanon Rally- MERC
Mitsubishi Motors once again marks its supremacy in motor-sports. On 2nd July 2006, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX driven by Lebanon's Roger Feghali and co-driver Nabil Njeim won at the FIA Middle East Rally Championship (MERC) event which finished at the ATCL in Lebanon.
For Roger Feghali and co-driver Nabil Njeim, it is their faultless third record-win in the Rally of Lebanon in the last four years. A strong line-up of the Middle East's finest rally drivers locked their horns during the 3-day Rally of Lebanon that was the round five of the 2006 FIA Middle East Rally Championship.
Apart from the first place, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX dominated the championship by finishing in the 4th, 6th 9th and 10th places. Over the years, Mitsubishi Motors has proven itself to be a sure winner in the various motor-sports held across the world, especially at the off road desert challenges & Dakar Rally thus reinforcing its image as a true leader.
